Investing Won't Make You RICH (probably)

I have been seeing a lot ADS recently from random people on YouTube, talking about how they have some secret that will make a millionaire by next year and all I have to do is pay them a fee to learn the tricks to the trade. After seeing about 100 hundred if not more of people showing me their fancy houses and fancy cars, I got ticked off and this podcast episode was born. In this episode, we are talking about how investing is not going to make you RICH overnight. Investing is not about a quick turn around but a consistent pattern over the long term.

Here are three reasons Investing will not make you rich overnight:

  1. You need some form of starting capital to even start investing, which means you gotta save money first.

  2. The general returns are not that great. The S&P 500 has had an annual return of about 8-10% in the last 90 years meaning if you invested $10,000 you will make $800.

  3. Let's be honest with ourselves, we kinda SUCK at investing and picking stocks.
