Yeah, the itis is still very real for me. I did not read much news after Monday last week, so this newsletter is gonna be pretty empty and very lacking. For that I apologize.
Tale of the Tape
Companies
The massive Microsoft outage caused by CrowdStrike earlier this year is still weighing on the minds of investors.
By The Numbers: There was nothing bad in CrowdStrike's quarterly earnings report.
Revenues increased by 29% to $1 Billion. The first time ever CrowdStrike has had a billion-dollar quarter.
Profit increased by 31% to $770 million.
Stock Move After Earnings: Stock Fell 6% after earnings.
👀What to Watch: Investors are very worried about the potential of CrowdStrike to lose reoccuring revenue due to a loss of faith in the company after the outage. That has not materialized, in fact CrowdStrike raised its guidance for the full year to $3.9 Billion.
Explaining Obscure Financial Terms
Stats of the Week
According to a study by Empower, Generation Z believe in order to be financially successful you need to earn at least $587,000 PER YEAR!
You also have to have a net worth of at least $10 MILLION!
Compare those numbers to median income in 2023, which was $80,610.
The median net worth was $192,900.
This explains so much about the nihilistic tendencies of Gen Z. The belief that they will never amount to anything so why even bother.
I believe social media has completely ruined us and ruined our perspective on REALITY!! The expectation of a decent live has completely been blown apart. I put out this thread a while ago and I believe it holds true.
The amount made by airlines from seat fees in the last six years according to a report from a Senate committee. Seat fees are second only to you guessed it, Bag fees, which brought in $25.3 Billion in the same timeframe. Both are huge profit streams for airlines like Delta, American, United, Frontier, and Spirit.
According to the report, all airlines said the price of the fee was not directly tied to any costs the airline incurs to provide the service. Meaning they can charge whatever they want because they have a captive audience aka anticompetitive practice.
Glicked aka Gladiator 2 and Wicked, made $170 million at the box office on their release weekend.
Wicked made $112 million. The third largest box office weekend behind Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2
Internationally, it made $164 million
Gladiator 2 made $55.5 million.
It made $50 million internationally.
Looking Ahead
No idea what is going on. I could barely remember how to open my computer.

Reviving Hope
The new coach for Man U is making me do something I have tried so hard not to do.
Believe
Man U has not had such a convincing victory since 2021. For the first time in a long time, I saw a team that had desire. I saw something that I never thought I would see, Man U actually pressing as a team! I hope we see more of this as the coach completely wrangles the team in order.
Ravens Clipped Wing
This game could have been won by the Ravens but for 2 missed field goals and a missed extra point. Justin Tucker is having a HORRIFIC YEAR. One upon a time, he was as reliable as a 2004 Honda Accord (those things just don’t die). But this year, he has been bad. His conversion percentage is 74%, the worst of his career. It is not just field goals he is missing; he is also missing extra points.
The Ravens are in a bad position and playoffs hope are beginning to hang in the balance.
